Russ Martin, MAA, Commander – Central Investigations St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office
Russ has over 21 years of service in law enforcement, currently assigned as the Commander of Investigations at the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office. He began his career in Virginia in 1999 and ultimately landed in St. Johns county where he has served in various roles over the years in Patrol, K9, Investigations, Special Operations and was the Swat Team Commander. He completed his undergraduate from the University of Virginia-Wise and his Master of Arts in Administration from Barry University.
Russ understands the great duty supervisors hold in identifying and responding to the needs of those they are responsible to. Cultivating an environment to be open, honest and authentic about the mental pressures of first responders is definitely a challenge, but an obtainable culture to build.
