All Clear Foundation – Text BADGE to 741741 (Crisis Text Line)

All Clear Foundation is driven to change the harmful stigmas and daunting statistics plaguing the First Responder profession.

Crisis Center of Tampa Bay – 1-866-4FL-HERO

Offering a lifeline of support to first responders, the Crisis Center’s first responder hotline (1-866-4FL-HERO) allows you to speak confidentially with counselors trained to support first responders in crisis.

Fire/EMS Helpline – 1-888-731-3473

Also known as Share The Load. A program run by the National Volunteer Fire Council. They have a help line, text based help service, and have also collected a list of many good resources for people looking for help and support.

The national (USA) suicide hotline. Not first responder specific, but they can and will talk to anyone who needs help. We’ve been told by one of their founders they have a large number of first responders and veterans who volunteer.

A service that allows people in crisis to speak with a trained crisis counselor by texting “Start” or “Help” to 741-741.

Copline (Law Enforcement Only) – 1-800-267-5463

A confidential helpline for members of law enforcement. Their website also has additional information on help and resources.

Frontline Helpline – 1-866-676-7500

Run by Frontline Responder Services. Offer 24/7 coverage with first responder call-takers.

Kristin Brooks Hopeline – 1-800-442-4673

Another national (USA) hotline for people suffering from mental health issues.

Veterans Crisis Line (Veterans only)- 1-800-273-8255 & press 1, or text 838255

A crisis line specifically for veterans of the US armed forces.

In Florida

FBHA serves as a trusted source of information, it advances policy initiatives, and it advocates for better behavioral health for all Floridians.

Winter Park, FL – Book with Ashlyn Douglass-Barnes, LCSW. She specializes in first responder trauma and also nurses, doctors, social workers, and military. Provides both individual and couples therapy and is LGBT competent. Accepts multiple insurances and also has a cash rate.

Palm Beach, FL – Heidi provides various psychotherapies including EMDR. She has worked with first responders, including first responders involved in the 9/11 response.

Pensacola, FL – Former deputy sheriff and volunteer firefighter who is now a licensed mental health counselor specializing in PTSD and other mental health issues. Offers both in-home therapy and equine-assisted therapy. Does not accept insurance.

Umatilla, FL – They have experience providing equine-assisted psychotherapy to veterans and first responders.

Delray Beach, FL – Dual diagnosis program led by a first responder who is also a masters-level therapist. 12-step program based with a variety of additional therapy modalities used. Option of partial hospitalization or intensive outpatient treatment.

Orlando, FL – A multidisciplinary clinic run through University of Central Florida that specializes in treating trauma/PTSD. They have significant experience working with first responders, including a formal partnership with the Florida Firefighters Safety and Health Collaborative. Can provide crisis management support to first responders.

Greenacres, FL – The 11th Hour Trauma Retreat is an intensive PTSD/Trauma resolution therapy program specifically designed to help first responders, veterans and their families who have been affected by trauma.

Lay Resources

Switchboard Helpline – 1-855-768-3473

Broward County, FL – Run by Switchboard of Miami in partnership with several first responder groups. All the call takers are culturally competent and able to provide referrals to resources in South Florida.

Southeast FL – Provides peer support and also has a chaplaincy program.
